Ever saw an intereting video clips on Youtube or Yahoo? Ever wanted to download the video to your hard drive for future viewing? Head over here for a guide on how to do it. It may not be very comprehensive but it's close.
I strongly recommend the software "Replay A/V" I've been using it to grab difficult to download streaming video and it's been successful so far.
There're other ways to download the videos from Youtube. Head over to Keepvid and just paste the URL of the clips from Youtube and the URL for the actual clips will be display on the screen. However, there's a downside to Keepvid. It's unable to grab clips that requires you to log in.
An alternative, if you're using the Opera web browser, is to download a widget call "Video downloader". Just paste the URL into the box and press the arrow button. The link to the clip will show after a few seconds and just click on it to save it to your hard drive.
As mentioned in the guide, you can view the .FLV files using the FLV player. For an alternative, try GOM player. So far, I'm very satisfied with GOM PLayer and VLC Media Player performance in handling all the video files that I have. It's way much better then Windows Media PLayer.
Even when there's many software that can download streaming video, I still face problems with grabbing picture that streams from a flash player. I've yet to find a software that can grab the pictures. I'll post again when I can find a way to do it.
